How your Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) works

Inside the core of the unit, indoor air passes through the chamber while being exhausted from your home, while fresh outdoor air passes through the other chamber as it is drawn into your home.

As they pass each other in side-by-side chambers the heat from the indoor air is transferred to the cooler incoming air. By pre-heating the fresh incoming air you conserve energy making it easier for your home's furnace to heat the air.
